Returns
Should a timepiece not be right for you, it may be returned under the terms set out below. Before every shipment, each piece is documented in detail, with macro photography and a Witschi WAIO test, establishing a precise record of its condition. That record is the standard against which any return is assessed.
Return window
A return may be requested within 72 hours of delivery. The window opens at the delivery confirmation recorded by the shipping service, or, where a piece is received in person, at the time of hand-off. Requests made after 72 hours will not be accepted.
What may be returned
- An elective return — a return by your own choice, within the 72-hour window, provided every condition set out below is met.
- A timepiece that is not as described, not authentic, or not in working order — always accepted, and never treated as final sale.
Conditions of return
A return is accepted only where all of the following are satisfied:
- Return Authorization. You have contacted us in advance and hold a Return Authorization (RA), with the RA number shown on the exterior of the package. A parcel sent without an RA is refused and returned at the sender's expense.
- Unworn. The timepiece has not been worn. Please refrain from wearing it until you are certain you will keep it, as even a day of wear will almost always leave a mark.
- Unaltered. The bracelet has not been sized, no links have been removed, and no strap has been cut.
- Complete. The piece is returned with everything it was supplied with: the timepiece, its box, papers and cards, links, tags, and all accessories, with every protective covering, tape, and hang tag intact, including any marked non-removable. A timepiece sold as new must retain its factory stickers and tags; where these have been removed, the return is considered case by case.
- Verified condition. The timepiece arrives in the same condition in which it was sent and in full working order, and it passes our three checks: the watchmaker's inspection, a WAIO test, and a match of serial and components against the photographs and video we record before every shipment.
Where any condition is not satisfied, the return will not be accepted. House of Tashan may, at its sole discretion, choose to accept such a return on a case-by-case basis.
Return shipping
House of Tashan arranges and controls the return shipment, selecting the carrier, the insurance, and the full declared value, to the same standard of security applied when the piece was first sent to you. On an elective return, the actual cost of the return shipment is deducted from the refund. Where a piece is returned as not as described or defective, House of Tashan bears it in full.
Inspection and refund
Upon receipt, the timepiece is examined by our watchmaker against the checks above. After this initial inspection, and where the movement or another aspect requires further verification, House of Tashan may, at its discretion, send the timepiece to an independent watchmaker for additional review. Any such review is carried out at the customer's expense, and the amount is deducted from the final payout upon successful completion. Funds will not be released until all inspections are complete and the timepiece is once again in the physical possession of House of Tashan.
Upon successful completion of the inspection, the customer is notified accordingly and funds are released within 3 to 5 business days, by the same means as the original payment. Cash cannot be refunded against a purchase made by card. A purchase completed through our eBay, Chrono24, or Bezel listing is refunded under that platform's terms. Trade-ins, exchanges, and purchases received as a gift are refunded as credit with the House. No restocking fee is charged.
Where a return does not pass inspection, whether through new wear or damage, an altered or missing component, a serial that does not match, or a failure on the WAIO, it is declined, no refund is issued, and the timepiece is returned to you at your expense.
Eligibility
Timepieces we own are returnable under this policy. Timepieces sourced to your specification, and those held on consignment, are final sale, and this is confirmed to you in writing before the sale is concluded. Special orders, whether engraved, bespoke, or assembled to request, are final sale under a separate agreement.
Authenticity
No final-sale designation displaces our representations as to authenticity. Should a timepiece prove other than as represented, you are protected, whatever its category or the return window.
Anti-fraud and serial verification
Every serial and component is photographed before shipment and verified on receipt. Swapped components, a serial that does not match, or a parted-out timepiece are grounds for refusal. A timepiece that does not pass serial verification is grounds for House of Tashan to void the transaction, including any consignment arrangement. Should a timepiece be found listed on a stolen-property registry, House of Tashan will not complete the transaction, will cancel any arrangement with the party who presented it, and will report the matter to the appropriate authorities.
Warranty
Each eligible timepiece carries the House of Tashan 12-month Limited Warranty. As this written coverage is extended, any implied warranties run for the same 12 months rather than being set aside.
